Your Authentic Self : Guided Meditation [Free Audio Download]

Be who you want, Healing, Inspiring, Learning to Love YourselfChloë RainComment

At your fullest potential...with no fears...

Who are you?

Listen to the guided meditation above, where you will connect deeply with your authentic self and receive renewed enthusiasm for being just who you truly are. (Less than 45 minutes in entirety.) You may also download the audio to listen on your own time and use the questions below for reflection.

May you be blessed with the peace of knowing your authentic self deeply.

Turn your attention inward...even more deeply inside...to connect with your authentic self.

What is most important to you in life? What do you value? What makes you happy? What makes you smile? Can you remember the last time you laughed?

Now consider what makes you who you are. Finding your authentic self involves learning who you truly are. Your authentic self is the real you, the person you are truly meant to be. Your authentic self is the person you are at your core, the person you can be if nothing holds you back.

Imagine the person you believe yourself to be right now. Now imagine you could strip away all the things that hold you back from your full potential. Imagine self-doubt dissolving...being replaced with confidence and self-assurance. Imagine all the things that get in the way of success...such as circumstances, lack of resources, lack of forgiveness, illness, baggage from the past...anything that is holding this person back in any way at all...

See these problems dissolving...disappearing...going away...

Now imagine yourself, standing in the empty room. What is left? Who are you when all those barriers are stripped away?

This person is you. Imagine who you are at the core...the pure character that is left when there is nothing to get in the way of complete self-expression.

Think of your desires...what motivates you? What drives you to get out of bed in the morning? What interests you and stirs your heart?

Think about your personality and your personal identity... think about the characteristics that are left when all barriers are removed and all fears have gone away.

At your fullest potential, your simplest form...with no fears...who are you?

Think about your energy...

Imagine something that makes you feel happy...what is it?

Think of some things you enjoy...things that you like to do...

Think about all the characteristics of the person who is left when all barriers and fears are removed.

Now create one final picture in your mind. Imagine, in as much detail as you can, the person you want to be. Imagine your ideal self...

How would this person behave? What does this person, your authentic self, value? What motivates this ideal self? What personal characteristics are present in this ideal version of you? Imagine all the details of the person you most want to be.

The image in your mind right now, of this ideal person, is YOU.

This is your authentic self. This is who you are. At the core, beneath all of life's getting in the way...this is you.

Now allow yourself to step inside this image, and fully become this person. Become who you are.

For this moment, just be...simply be your authentic self.

You have always been this person...you always will be your authentic self...a positive, confident person. Underneath the challenges, the baggage, the demands of living life...this is the real you that will always be with you.

Keep the image of your authentic self with you as you go about the rest of your day. Express this true self...and allow you to simply be you.

Thank you for being you. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

With Love,

There is only one person who can end your suffering.

Be who you want, Healing, Learning to Love Yourself, Life LessonsChloë RainComment

The present moment is the only moment available to us, and it is the door to all moments. We tend to think that there will be a point on the horizon that once we reach, we will have finally "arrived."

But there is no such point out there on the horizon. The only point you ever have any power or control over is this moment. This moment, the one you're in right now.

Instead, we make ourselves jump through hoops before we allow ourselves any satisfaction or self accolade. Because of this, we often put ourselves and our happiness off into the future.

My big hang up has always been that when I meet my soulmate and get married, then I will be truly happy and fulfilled.  But the truth is I have had many soul mates in my life. My relationships have gotten progressively healthier and more rewarding, but all of them have taught me something wonderful about myself.

No matter what the destination and the timing of our arrival, life always seems to have its challenges. I don't know why that is... I wish I could change it most times.

Sometimes I see and feel so much suffering, I wish I could take it away and save another person from their own suffering.

I’ve learned, however, that isn’t what's best for us. In the long run, taking away someone else's suffering will only create more suffering, for me, for you, and for them.

It seems like an odd lesson, but perhaps one of the most importants one we can learn.

There is only one person who can end your suffering.

That one person is You.

We must learn to release our own suffering for ourselves.

It's best to understand and embrace this about life, from this place of acceptance, there will always be challenges there will always be opportunity for growth and change, there are always infinite possibilities and potentialities available to us in every moment.  When you start living from this awareness life opens for in ways you could never have imagined.

Life is what's going on right now. Are you happy now? If not now, then when?

When you lose the ten pounds, when you have the sculpted arms and impress people with your headstand in yoga class? When you get married, when you get divorced, when you lose the baby weight, when you have another baby?

When you write that book, when you beat that time, when you get that promotion, when you change your career, when you break six figures, when you retire, when you have that new car, when you buy that house, when you pay off your mortgage?

Maybe Friday, maybe next summer, maybe this fall, when you sober up, when you have that drink, when you quit smoking, when you finally get over her, when you finally get him to notice you?

If not now, then when? When you feel better? When you’ve got more money? When you feel less tired. When you’re dead? When?

When we embrace true presence and grasp that this moment is the only place and time in which we have any influence or choice, we begin to experience that sense of inner peace that we’ve been chasing.

Not sometime in the future, but now. Then it begins to seem as if each challenge adds to the suspense, the chaos, the possibilities, the romance, the adventure, the joy and the mystery of life.

When we grasp that this moment is the only place and time in which we have any influence, we begin to experience that sense of inner peace.

Here's to your infinite miraculous expansion.

In love and service,

Awakening is not a thing. It is not a goal, not a concept. It is not something to be attained. It is a metamorphosis. If the caterpillar thinks about the butterfly it is to become, saying ‘And then I shall have wings and antennae’, there will never be a butterfly. The caterpillar must accept its own disappearance in its transformation. When the marvelous butterfly takes wing, nothing of the caterpillar remains.

The Spiritual Significance of the Winter Solstice

Ceremony, Rituals, Rites of Passage, Spiritual Significance, Life LessonsChloë Rain1 Comment
meaning of winter solstice

The light of the Sun begins a new solar cycle at Winter Solstice. The rays shine into the dark, and nurture the newborn life there to be cultivated. And this is mirrored in nature, as the seeds are buried in the darkness of the Earth, to emerge once again with the life-giving rays of the Sun.

In the Northern Hemisphere at this time we are experiencing the longest and darkest nights of the year and the shortest days with the least amount of daylight. The dark triumphs over the light, but this signifies a turning point!

In winter everything lies dormant in the silent earth, it is a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening and the slow build toward brighter days.

The energy of winter is that of going within. It's the fruitful darkness and silence out of which our soul's yearnings and new inspirations can eventually emerge.  As we consciously link our awareness to nature's cycles, our understanding of our own personal growth cycles begin to deepen.

Why do we spend so much time suppressing and hiding our darkness? When negative emotions come up and we feel them, they're inconvenient, uncomfortable, or worse, we make ourselves wrong for feeling them.

When we fear our own darkness, we cut ourselves off from an essential source of our own personal power. The key is not in letting darkness overwhelm our lives and our thoughts but in understanding that darkness can be one of the greatest catalysts for personal growth and transformation.

Maybe even our way to enlightenment.

By allowing ourselves to feel our emotions and experience our own darkness, the darkness itself can become the spiritual cradle into which our inner light and new life is born.

Allow your feelings to guide you because your feelings are your truth.

Winter Solstice is the great stillness before the Sun's strength builds, and days grow longer. It can be a time to rest and reflect.

In Latin, solstice is made of two words: sol– meaning “the sun” and sistere meaning “to make stand.” Winter Solstice (Friday, December 21, 2018 at 5:23 pm EST) is one the most powerful points of the year as the axis of the Earth pauses, shifts and moves in the opposite direction. For three days around the solstice points we experience the power of the standstill point and the shift of direction. The sun standing still is a powerful metaphor for the energy available to us at the Winter Solstice to change the direction of our lives with intention and build on this energy as we enter into the new year. After experiencing the longest night and darkest day, the nights grow shorter and the days grow brighter until the Summer Solstice.

For today let yourself rest in the peace of darkness, knowing the changing of the season, and the return of brighter days is ahead, be reminded you are always connected to Source, and your inner light never dims.

Don’t pressure yourself to make changes right now or be in action in world … let the energies of new life and inspiration build slowly within you and by spring you’ll be bursting with new energy and ideas. This is the nature of things… the cycles and rhythms of personal growth and change, as you consistently nurture yourself with compassion, allowing for rest and reflection, great joy will be your harvest in 2019.

You may want to take time to honor and acknowledge the endings & new beginnings in your life in a ceremony or personal ritual that both honors your past and clears space to make room for what you wish for the coming year. I share some ideas for personal rituals below ↓.

Whatever you choose to do to mark the end of the year, the coming of the new, and the rebirth of the light— whether pausing in quiet reflection, or celebrating with community, know that all over our planet, there are many fires burning brightly!

Abundant blessings to you in the coming year!

In love and service,

Meaning of Winter Solstice 2018

Ritual Acts Give Life Meaning

The longest night of the year is honored by many traditions as a sacred and rich time. Regardless of your holiday traditions, this time of year can be honored by reflecting on the past year and participating in your own personal ritual of light or Ending & Beginnings. When we make time to acknowledge the gifts of Spirit we cultivate a greater capacity to receive our own inner light. By enacting a personal ritual you can celebrate the dark and the light and invite balance and harmony into your life!

Ritual acts give life meaning. They also honor and acknowledge the unseen web of Life that connects us all. When we honor our personal cycles and the seasons of the year— we are reminded of the ever-changing flow of life that we are connected to.

It is suggested to take time 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the precise moment of the Solstice to open to the intelligence of nature all around you and to acknowledge your personal growth cycle. A simple ritual act done with intention in your heart is enough.

Since this time of year is associated with light — celebrate with string lights, sparklers and candles. Join in the Jewish tradition of the Festival of Lights, with 8 days of ritual illumination or participate in a community bonfire and burn your own Yule log, a tradition with roots in Northern European pre-Christian times.

Light celebrations can be reminders of our inner light, and the Divine Light that guides our way in times of darkness.

Fire Ceremony for Winter Solstice 2017

Fire Ceremony for Release & Rebirth

You may want to take time to honor and acknowledge the endings & new beginnings in your life in a ceremony or personal ritual that both honors your past and clears space to make room for what you wish for the coming year.

Make an offering that represents the past and give it to the Spirit of Fire as a completion. Then spend a bit of time dreaming and visioning to bring into focus what you would like to experience and bring into being in the coming year.

This can be done as a personal ceremony or with a group. Begin by giving out small pieces of paper and pencils so each can write down what they want to release.

When all have written down what they wish to release, all can gather around a fire, and each can in turn come to the fire and throw their paper in.

After all have gone, you may want to end the ritual by going around the circle and each person sharing something they are grateful for, or you may want to make some celebratory noise by banging on drums, shaking noise makers, and using your voice to send your prayers off into the Universe with a celebratory song!
