The Shaman's Medicine Bag: Inyan Pejuta: Stone Medicine and Andean Energy Medicine

HealingChloë RainComment

My medicine bag, placed on the Pachamama Altar in Machu Picchu Peru, along with a few of my healing stones, to receive the cleansing and blessings of the Great Spirit.

Shamanic Healing is based in love and compassion and it works for our complete and total wellness: mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. Deep in the jungles of the Southern continent the medicine people, for the past 500 years, have been using and carrying on the knowledge of the power of certain earth elements to heal disease and illness: emotional, physical, and inherited.

These Shamanic practices are used to help you heal and understand the meaning of your life.

In ancient healing traditions emotions were viewed as energies and were understood by the Shamans and used to accomplish many goals.

Emotions were valued as tools that were unique to humans, with which they could manifest new realities.

Both negative and positive emotions can be utilized. The experience of fear, for example, gives us an opportunity to confront, acknowledge, and transform our boundaries. And when we feel love we become powerful beyond measure. Those who feel love and give love are able to receive love in return and are able to accomplish any goal.

The Shamans believe there are two kinds of illnesses... some that are created by our daily behavior or habits and some that are family, environment or socially related.

Most sad and depressed people are more susceptible to illness, which can create a cyclical effect that feels never ending. Love, understanding and compassion are key for the successful healing of depression, disease, & illness: mental emotional, or physical.

Receive the healing wisdom of the stones.

In 2012 I was initiated in the Pampamesayok Lineage of Andean Energy Medicine in Peru and then began to return each year to lead a Spiritual Pilgrimage to Machu Picchu. In 2015 I was given a vision to return home to the Shenandoah Valley and learn the medicine of the Stones. I received certification as a Stone Medicine Practitioner and then I spent 18 months immersed in training to become Inyan Mani or Stone Walker, a Native American Healing Art, as taught by my Elder.

Using the teachings of my own personal initiations, and the teaching that have been imparted to me by my Elders and Indigenous Teachers and the past seven years of coaching individuals to discover their Life Purpose, I began offering healing retreats on my land in Skywater Hollow in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.

The techniques of Stone Medicine are not just intended to affect the physical body, but the emotions and the spirit as well. By clearing the body of negative energies and reconnecting it to the healing energies of the earth, the body's ability to heal itself is reestablished.

In Native American belief, the Stone Tribe holds the ancient wisdom of the world. They see stones as our historians, for all of evolution is recorded in fossils and geological activity that is evidenced in the Stone Tribe. Perhaps, through the practice of Stone Medicine, humanity can find a way to tap into some of that wisdom for the benefit of MITAKUYE OYASIN :"All My Relations."

Mitakuye Oyasin - Aho Mitakuye Oyasin is a simple yet profound statement. It comes from the Lakota Nation and means 'all my relations'.

It is spoken during prayer and ceremony to invite and acknowledge that we are all one. In the western world we interpret "To all my Relations" as a statement to our relatives or ancestors, however, its meaning is much greater and speaks to our connection with all of creation, plants, animals, creepy crawlies, dirt, the stars, the Universe, and beyond. That which is all life force and all creation.
